In 1919, Wu Hufan gave his cousin Chen Ziqing over ten kinds of manuscripts of poems and inscriptions after screening collections of his grandfather Wu Dacheng, which cover a wide range of categories and span over a long period of time; including manuscript of Shuo Wen Lei bian, draft of Sequal to Seal Collection of Family Names, manuscripts of inscriptions on tallies, inkstones, tiles, measurements, tablets as well as manuscript of the scholar’s name list of provincial examination in Hunan in 1894, reading notes, name cards, seals, exclusive poetry paper, eight-episode essays in his early life, etc. 




From the perspective of calligraphy development, it provides an access to researching Wu Dacheng’s academic thinking and artistic achievement as it combines different calligraphic styles.
